About The Firefly Covenant

Basically this book was just inspired by a nightmare. Long story short, I dreamt of a red snake like dragon that bit me, and I died. However, unlike my book this does end happily, I'm not a horror story writer. I use my dreams, especially nightmares, for story ideas. It's a form of dream therapy you could say. It's the conclusion of a nightmare that tends to be very terrifying... or lack thereof. Of course, when you die in a nightmare that's very conclusive, but often you wake up a split second before you die. In my dream it was assumed that I died, but I didn't actually get to the part where I died. I took advantage of this and form my own ending to the nightmare, where it actually ends happily. This dream occurred when I was in sixth grade, and I rewrote the ending in my head to make it less terrifying. From there a story was born.

Originally, the story was going to be an urban fantasy called The Dragon Seeker Chronicles where dragons warped into the modern world by some form of magic. However, that became too complicated and there were so many different plot lines I couldn't handle it. Therefore I set it aside for four years

During my sophomore, I resurrected it during the Nanowrimo novel writing contest as The Firefly Covenant and based it in a medieval fantasy world. I didn't complete it, unfortunately, due to school, vacation, and procrastination. Despite this, I intend to finish this and make it a complete novel and eventually progress it to a series.

In the meantime, I'm using this blog to post about it. I'm still new at blogging so I hope you forgive me for some mistakes I might make. I hope to post around two to three pages per week. Please comment. I don't care much for popularity but constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)
